km 400

Holy moley! 4 Days on the road already and we've gotten a pretty good taste of what's to come! We decided against our original plans of heading north through the mountains and instead pointed out wheels to the south on hwy 3 through the crowsnest pass. Right now we're taking our 5th day to rest in Princeton B.C. before we continue on. The last few days have been filled with chalenges, who would have thought that in 1 day we would bike from almost sea-level to 1250m in one fun filled 20km up-hill? or that the next day we would coast 70km down from that pass in just a few hours. Traveling on a bike under your own power has to be one of the most rewarding and fullfiling experiences I've ever had. We travel slowly enough to be able to enjoy the scenery and wildlife but fast enough to really see your progress each day. We've been warned that although the hills in the rockies are long (just a bit)they're not steep, aparantly the steep ones are in northern ontario, we'll have to wait and see.

Ohhh wait until you face the dreaded grasshoppers of Saskatchewan, or the mutated black flys of lake Winnipeg...hills I can deal with but swarms of human eating locusts??? Tell Chris to wear the "target" shirt that day...maybe spoon yesterday's leftover Mr. Noodle onto his neck...tell him "it makes him very sexy" guys love that kinda stuff...

Sounds great you two. Keep'em coming.
